Resident Resources Manager and Coordinators
BA or some college work, and at least 1 full year of experience with customer services

3PM-11:30PM: MON,TUES & 11PM-7:30AM: FRI,SAT
The primary function of this position is to provide excellent customer service while keeping the Front Desk well stocked and computer information up to date and accurate.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Maintains a high level of knowledge about guest population and passes information to the next shift via diligent shift crossover meetings.
Processes intakes and voucher renewals, checks paperwork, makes corrections and verifies accuracy of the room board and audit reports.
Operates agency computer systems and networks and keeps records current.
Understands and follows PSP and Front Desk policies and procedures and exercises sound judgment when responding to unanticipated guest issues.
Performs stocking and cleaning responsibilities outlined in 3rd Shift Front Desk Duties & Stocking List.
Stands-in for Security when requested or when deemed necessary.
Responds to guests’ requests for information and necessities.
Enforces PSP rules for guests.
Records behavioral issues, warnings and restrictions for Front Desk and Security teams.
Answers telephone, receives and issues messages for guests in keeping with Data Privacy provisions.
Documents facility information and submits work orders when necessary.
Contributes to warm, friendly environment by greeting, smiling and practicing other acts of basic hospitality.
Teams with other agency departments to provide coordinated guest support.
Communicates and coordinates with county partners on guests matters.
Works reliably, independently and effectively without onsite management supervision.
Coaches & directs interns and volunteers.
Performs additional duties as assigned by Resident Resources Manager and Coordinators.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and taste or smell. The employee must lift and/or move 25 lbs.
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

People Serving People achieves its mission and goals by providing emergency housing and community services that assist families experiencing homelessness in becoming self-sufficient and reconnected with the community. In a safe, secure and sober environment, PSP provides services which cultivate independence and accountability.
What distinguishes PSP from other emergency shelters is the broad range of on-site programs and services designed to address common barriers that homeless families are faced with. To provide a new opportunity for families, it is necessary that we help them find ways to break through these barriers and stop patterns that lead to poverty and homelessness. Housing and employment issues are addressed, along with educational, emotional and life enrichment needs.
People Serving People, Inc. (PSP) was incorporated and received its 501(c)(3) status in 1982, as a temporary homeless shelter for men with chemical dependencies. The first location was the former Francis Drake Hotel.
Over the past twenty years homelessness changed from affecting mostly men with chemical and mental health problems, to affecting families with children.
PSP saw the need to adapt to the changing homeless population and became an emergency shelter for men and/or women with families and unaccompanied youth. Some nights the number of homeless children PSP sheltered soared to nearly 500. To accommodate families, PSP opened an additional building to provide safe and sober emergency housing. In 1987, Hennepin County began to refer families to PSP. These referrals, and the development of cooperative ventures with community agencies, prompted PSP to offer a holistic approach by providing on-site collaborative services, which we continue today.
Concentrating its services on homeless families in the late 1990s, PSP conducted focus groups and compiled a feasibility study relative to the type of facility and services that were needed to serve the seven county homeless population. It was determined that PSP should own a single, larger location near the city's core. In the fall of 1997, PSP embarked on a capital campaign and purchased a building at 614 S. 3rd Street, in downtown Minneapolis.
In 2002, People Serving People renovated and moved into its new location. The facility was crafted so that 21 other agencies could be housed on-site. Our current facility has 10 floors and a lower level full service dining hall; including seven floors for emergency housing, offering 99 hotel-size rooms and 10 two-bedroom apartments. There are four service floors containing a dining room, two libraries, several classrooms, collaborative agency offices, medical clinic, one infant and one preschool center, computer lab, and more.
